Summertime 2015

My Gobbledeegook,
A lot has happened since last time I wrote!

You graduated your first year of preschool! Miss Di threw a special program for you and all of your friends where you told us all about how much you have learned.

We went to the zoo for Mother's Day.  You loved the penguins and the monkeys and got a pink flamingo from the gift shop.

We went bowling when uncle Patrick came to visit (it was your first time!), and have spent lots of time at the park playing. You love to take your four-wheeler and other toys to play with.

We said good-bye to our dear Spud...you were so sad when he had to go to Heaven. You two were best friends since you were a tiny baby. We sure do miss him.

We went to the 4th of July parade, where you got lots of candy and had so much fun with friends.

You have discovered a love for critters great and small.  You've had two frogs, countless lady bugs, and currently you have a ladybug in a jar, and three grasshoppers in jars.

You went to Market Lake Days with Grandma and Grandpa for the first time! It's so exciting for me when you get to do things taht I did at your age! You wouldn't let me wash your face for THREE DAYS.  I finally had to trick you into letting me wash the face paint off.

You even helped me and dad pick worms.  You thought it was pretty cool.

You start your second year of preschool in just over a month, I can't wait to see how much you learn and grow this year. I am so glad that I get to be your mommy and watch you have all these phases and stages and learning experiences.

I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

It's Okay Mommy

Can I just say, my dearest Mae, that you are the sweetest child a mama could ask for.  Today you caught me crying...which I really do try not to do in front of you...but you caught me.  You came over so very sweetly and wrapped your little arms around me and said the sweetest thing, "I know you miss Khyri, Mommy, but it's okay.  I'm here.  It's okay Mommy."

You take my breath away some days.  I love you to the moon and back baby girl.
Love,
Mommy

Field Trip!

Today was your first field trip!  You went with your preschool class for a tour of Channel 8's news station.  You had a ton of fun :) you played in front of the greenscreen and saw yourself on the camera.  Then we went back to class for your friend Shaylee's birthday treats. Tuesday Miss Di wants to take you guys for a field trip to Winco...we'll see  how that adventure turns out! I love you to the moon and back!

Mommy

Mamas Been Slackin

My Dearest MaeFace
Sorry I've been slacking on your letters. Life has been fairly uneventful. I have been a stay at home mama with you since February, you also got your glasses in February. We did sissys birthday dinner and released balloons, you loved it....mostly because there were cupcakes. Your most recent favorite thing is bubbles...you love blowing them in the backyard because Bella chases them and "eats" them. Easter was this past weekend, and the Easter bunny did a great job. You got the butterfly net you have been wanting, tons of bubbles, candy for daaaays, and a zillion other toys including a huge stuffed bunny that was left for you at gma and gpas house. You are almost done with school for this year...and that makes me one excited mama :) many adventures to be had this summer. Today we snuggled on the couch and looked at some of your baby pictures...its hard to believe you were ever so small. You loved the pics, and laughed and giggled the whole time. I love having those little moments with you. We also had our first chat about being grateful for what you have today. We were at WalMart and you threw a fit because I wouldn't get you a bike. I explained that you already have two bikes and a fourwheeler and that's way more than some kids ever get...you didn't say that you got it, but you quit fittin' and instead brooded quietly in the back seat...which leads me to believe that you did understand...you are so smart. I love you to the moon and back baby girl.
love,
Mommy

Heart Pillow

Today was an awesome day! <3
It was cousin Kim's 45th birthday, and we went out to Aunt Cathy's for a little bit.  You played with the toys in the drawer, and there was a heart shaped pillow you wanted sooo bad...so I went and bought you a giant one that says "luv ya!" on the front of it when we got home.  You also got a new stuffed monkey tonight.  Monkey's have kinda always been your thing.  I love it.  You were such a sweetheart all day today! We went shopping for a bit and got some new shoes, we went and hung out with aunt brie and aunt vicki for a little bit.  I just love you to pieces.  You laid here with me for a little bit tonight and watched some LeapFrog and Fox and the Hound.  You are just too sweet.  I love you Khaily Mae.

Farsighted

Today was your first visit to the eye doctor! :D you had a ton of fun and were super excited about the treasure chest.  Dr. Clark told us that you are farsighted (like, really far sighted) and you got to pick out glasses! We had a chat about taking care of them, and they should be here in a couple weeks.  I am super excited to see how you are when you can SEE! I noticed when you were tiny that you had a slight lazy eye, and it's gotten pretty bad the last couple months so we decided it was time to take you in.  You HATED having your eyes dilated, but you took it like a champ! I love you Khaily Mae <3

Khyri

I realize that by the time you read this, the "ouch" will have worn off for you, and when people ask about her you might say "I only remember her a little" or "I was so little when it happened that I don't remember."  This makes me sad, because you two were BEST friends.  You fought, like sisters, but whenever anyone would get near her you'd yell, "Hey! That's MY sister don't touch her!" You were super protective of her, even though she took your toys.  You two used to hug a lot.  I wish I had gotten a picture.  I will have an entire album of you two for you by the time you read this.  You are an amazing big sister.  You ask me a lot if we can call Jesus and tell Him it's time for her to come home.  You sometimes get really really quiet, and that's when I know that you are thinking of her.  Just today, you were using one of her sippy cups, and you asked me if we could take it to her.  You have such a huge heart.  I hope that you look back on the pictures of the two of you with smiles.  Right now, it's still a very fresh loss for all of us.  We all miss her a lot.  You tell me all the time, "It's okay to cry when we miss Khyri all the time right Mommy?"  And it breaks my heart, but I'm glad that you understand that crying is okay.  She loved you tons.  She followed you everywhere and played with you, she took your toys and you'd come screaming to tell on her...it was adorable.  Even after everythign, you saw the picture of her on your four wheeler and said, "MOMMY SHES ON MY FOUR WHEELER! OOOO!"  It made me smile.  Sometimes it gets hard for me, because you are still so small and innocent and don't have the understanding of the situation that we as adults do, sometimes it hurts to hear you talk about her like she's coming back, but at the same time I am SO thankful for you and your innocence.  I love it when you talk about seeing her.  You tell me often to wave at her in the clouds, and a few days after her funeral you asked me why she was in my arms while I was sleeping...I loved that.  I believe that you still have a connection to her that the rest of us don't.  You tell me, "Mommy you know Khyri is in our heart right?"  You are such a gem.  I love you Khaily Mae.

We wend for Froyo with Jen every time she came to town

We loved family time outside
